I'm still having a terrible time with the over blown intensity and contrast of these new Mac screens. Apple has forgotten the professional graphic artist and photographer. Since the Mac Pro has been allowed to wallow with it's old generation chips an iMac purchase forces you to accept the bundled screen from gaudyville. The Munki calibration has allowed me to predict what I'm having to deal with in terms of color intensity but the monitors lack of meaningful contrast control has still left me with horrible surprises in this department. I feel like I'm back in the darkroom - back to those wee hours of the morning headaches of blown out highlights.

Hi, try this:

In "System Preferences", select "Display"
Under "Display", select "Color"
This will allow you to set up contrast, brightness, luminance response curve, gamma response curve and the colour (sorry, Australian spelling...) temperature.

Hope that helps.
